River Misogi 2006

River Misogi Sunday January 8, 2006 at 6:30 AM

Since the Verde River is NOT expected to be in flood this year, River Misogi will be happening! Here are the details:

River Misogi will be on Sunday, January 8th. We'll meet at 6:30 AM at the SW corner of Pima and Pinnacle Peak Roads (north on Pima Road from the east loop of the 101 Freeway, about 6 (?) miles to Pinnacle Peak Road (there's a light)--turn left, then take the first left again into the parking lot and drive past a building (a bank?). You should see folks standing around their vehicles in the dark. :-)

We will carpool to the river. Bring athletic shoes for wading into the water, to protect your feet from debris (zoris/sandals will not work on the slippery rocks at the bottom), a gi (or at least gi top to wear over your pants) for breathing meditation afterwards, a swimsuit, a towel to dry off with...and a small rug or towel you don't mind getting dirty to sit on while we breathe. Very often the ground is damp and dirt stains may be hard to get out of lighter clothing. It's about a quarter mile walk from where we park to the river. We will be going to breakfast afterwards, so bringing a change of dry clothes is a good idea, too.
